Hooray, I just finished my first pair of Gryffindor socks out of my Charmed Knits book. This pattern was a little different from the one I normally use, but it was generally easy to follow. I really like the slip-knit technique to reinforce the heel. My son wants a pair now, and I think I have just enough Dale UII yarn left over to whip him up a pair. If not, the yarn is only about $7 a skein through Patternworks. I think I'll take a crack at the "animal crackers hat" next!

Just in Time for Grandma's House

I made this set for my son Nicholas quite some time ago. I used Lion's Brand wool-ease yarn. The scarf has a little Gryffindor crest appliqued on the bottom. The ensemble sat around the house for years; we live in Florida and rarely have weather that would warrant the use of these articles. But this last Christmas we went to New Jersey and NYC so they came in handy, for sure!

House Sweater

This is "yours truly" making my own "house sweater" in  Gryffindor colors. The pattern is from Charmed Knits, by Alison Hansel. I absolutely love this book! Her instructions are so easy to follow and there are so many yummy potter patterns to choose from. I must've dog-eared almost all of them as future project contenders!
